What do seniors do during a COVID-19 summer? Tons!

Despite the global pandemic protocols, seniors can find many opportunities to connect.  Whether it’s online, by phone, or simply sitting together outside in the nice weather with a friendly chat or going for a walk, there are many activities to engage in.

Thinking of some new activities?  Check out:

  1.  Seniors Come Share Society – Though their day programs are on hold at this time, Seniors Come Share Society continues offering a variety of ways to connect.  See their community services web-page for details on programs such as Seniors Centre without Walls.
  2. City of Surrey – is offering some outdoor activities such as picnicking at Black Spit Park on Fridays in August.  There are also Video Art Lessons online here to engage more of your artistic side.  Whether its photography or drawing, there is a video to accommodate the artist in everyone.

These are just a few offerings available in the Surrey and White Rock area.  If you live in Langley or as far as Abbotsford, check out their seniors websites for similar seniors activities.

Enjoy the summer weather while it lasts!
