If you were not aware, this upcoming week is Seniors Week throughout the province of BC. There are a variety of events and activities planned in each city in the Fraser Valley, including information displays, workshops, guest speakers, and recreational opportunities. Events will be held at most seniors community and recreation centres and most are free (you may need to register to reserve your seat). You may want to check out the Healthy Active Aging Conference (https://www.surrey.ca/community/26808.aspx) , to be held at Newton Seniors Centre on June 9th, starting at 9am to 3pm. Topics range from elder abuse, brain health, and fitness to how to hand make greeting cards.
